Story
Our Forest School project aims to transform an area of the school grounds to create a unique, outdoor learning area. Southfield is a primary school in Hatfield, Hertfordshire for approximately 100 pupils with Learning Difficulties, which include, Autism, Speech Language and Communication Needs, Global Developmental Delay and other conditions.
An on-site forest school will encourage lifelong learning, boost physical and mental health, support diverse learning needs and enhance creativity and communication.
By adding to the range of learning on offer at Southfield, our children will be able to have experiences they may not be able to access elsewhere as a result of their additional needs - providing a safe space to learn in different ways and bring those skills back to the classroom.
