Story
In 2025 we celebrate 35 years of conserving, protecting and promoting our beloved Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park. We know that so many visitors love to relax and reflect within London’s most central woodlands, and we’d like to mark the occasion with a commemorative bench and plaque.
We can never have too many places in Cemetery Park to have a little sit down and take in the beauty of the nature and heritage surrounding us, so we couldn’t think of a better way to mark this special 35th year.
We ask that you please join us in raising £1000 for the Commemorative Bench.
Do you have a favourite spot that you'd like us to place this bench? Get in touch to let us know your suggestions!
Please note that we intend to initially fund one commemorative bench. Other funds raised in excess of this will support other park infrastructure or signage, and our general charitable activities.
Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park offers everyone a breathing space in the heart of East London. This 31-acre nature reserve is London’s most central urban woodland and one of its ‘Magnificent Seven’ cemeteries.
It’s a people’s park, a sanctuary for wildlife, a place for remembrance and a site for community events, field studies and forest schools. Always changing with the seasons and rooted in the unique heritage of the East End, it’s a place full of history, discovery and possibilities for all.
The Friends of Tower Hamlets Cemetery Park (FoTHCP) is an award-winning local charity working to protect, preserve and care for the Cemetery Park. Our passionate staff and volunteers share their energy, expert knowledge and vision to shape the future of the park for everyone’s benefit.
