Jibrael, Lewis, Stan, Fabian - Half Marathon, Battersea Park

This summer, Jibrael, Lewis, Stan, and Fabian are running the Battersea Park Half Marathon not just to race, but to help raise awareness for families who don’t have access to clean water.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation is one of the largest non-government international charity organisation in the world, with a network of branches and projects in over 100 countries worldwide. MWF is fully registered with the UK charity commission.

Story

This summer, Jibrael, Lewis, Stan and Fabian are all running the Battersea Park Half Marathon side by side, but the truth is - it’s not about the race. It’s about the people we’ll never meet, families who wake up every day without something we barely even think about: clean water. We’ve been so lucky to grow up where a simple turn of a tap gives us safety, comfort, and life. For others, it’s hours of walking, uncertainty, and risk, every single day. That reality has stayed with us, and it’s why this matters so much.

Our goal is to raise £1,080 to fund two large pumps and one small pump through Minhaj Welfare Foundations’s Water for All initiative - real, physical sources of water that can change everything for entire communities. That means children spending more time in school instead of collecting water, parents worrying less about illness, and families having the chance to simply live with dignity. When we run, it will be tough, but it will never compare to the daily struggles faced by those we’re trying to help. So we’re running with purpose, with gratitude and with hope. Every donation isn’t just support for us; it’s a step towards something life-changing for someone else. Thank you. Every penny helps massively.
