The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileIn September 2021 Microtia UK launched Project 100 - giving away 100 free books to 100 schools. We have been inspired by the amount of teachers, schools, teachers of the deaf and hearing centres that have got in touch with us to receive their free copy. They told us what a difference the book has made to their children's views on differences and it has given them the confidence to have important discussions. The book has also given them a reason to discuss what makes each child unique, whilst also exploring diversity and inclusion. So now we need your help to buy and distribute 1,000 books by supporting us in raising £5,000 because we would love to see more books reach more people for free. All funds raised within this campaign will go directly to purchasing more copies of our book and it will also cover our postage costs.

Take a look at some of our reviews of MI9: The Beginning:
At long last! A children's adventure story which celebrates difference and raises positive awareness of diversity and individuality!
In my role as an Inclusion Co Ordinator, I spent over twenty years passionately trying to focus on ability in the word disability and this book does exactly that.
The story captures the readers interest from the very first paragraph. It introduces Billy and his hearing challenges very naturally and with humour, and this sets the tone for the book.
The book is easy to read and will be very accessible. The chapters are short and there is a sense of moving forward in the story, with an air of expectation. As an adult reading the book, I could not wait to find out how they accomplished their secret mission!
This amusing, entertaining story is in contrast to the many books that make the reader pity the characters. It is a story which treats diversity and difference as part of life; acknowledging how differences lead to new skills. It will truly encourage all individuals to be proud of their own uniqueness!
