PeacePlayers Northern Ireland was formed in 2002. PeacePlayers uses sport, and specifically the game of basketball, to unite educate and inspire children and young people from the historically divided parts of the community in Northern Ireland. Our facilitators leverage sport and its inherent lessons of teamwork, cooperation, communication and determination as a means to promote peace and reconciliation in areas that continue to suffer most from continued sectarianism and division.
Whilst we are proud of our success, we have the ambition to do more deliver more programmes with more young people in more geographical locations. We must invest in our programmes to make them grow and sustainable. To this end, we are investing in a new car to improve our capacity and ability to deliver our programmes in more locations. What have you got to lose? As well as generating some important funds for a fantastic organisation, it should make for a great mornings craic!
Wet suits are not permitted. Though a top tip is to wear shoes as it makes the experience all the more pleasant. As on Im a Celebrity Get me Out of Here folks are only excused from participating in the plunge on medical grounds!!
