100,000 children are in care in the UK - often isolated and alone, far away from their family and friends. With your support, Family Rights Group can help more children to remain safely living with relatives who they know and love, and for children in care to have relationships with brothers, sisters, grandparents.
Why does your support matter?
Poverty, mental ill-health and domestic abuse are some of the reasons why we have rising numbers of children in the care system. Families are finding it difficult to get the support they need before the situation escalates to a crisis. When children go into care they often have to move away, leaving their school and their friends behind. More children could be raised safely within their family, with grandparents and others, however this option is too often not explored.
What difference will your support make?
Family Rights Group works to fix the system so children can remain safely in their families, and for children in care to have a positive, loving support network. We advise families so they can get the support they and their children need. Our campaigning and influencing work is leading to changes in the law and securing better access to early help services. Our Lifelong Links approach is working with children in care and care leavers to build relationships with the people who matter to them.
