Story
As the summer holiday looms, many of the children have decided to challenge themselves, either through Sport or Baking, to raise much needed funds for safety measures, educational and recreational resources at school, which will benefit all year groups in order to ensure that, come September, the children have the greatest chance of returning to school, albeit in a slightly different format to normal.
Individual children will be able to update you on their challenges but a few of those taking place are 5k runs, 20k cycles, a certain number of keepie-uppies, skips with a rope, bounces on a trampoline, baking 50 cups cakes for friends and neighbours. All the challenges have been decided upon by each child to suit their own ability and desires!
As a small school of 105 pupils, High Hurstwood Primary School, like many, has been affected by Covid-19 in a number of ways. The children have not been able to learn as they know it, nor see their friends. We have not been able to enjoy the laughter and fun that goes hand in hand with children and our usual fund raising events and we have really missed not being able to hold planned events. If you are able to donate towards helping the children of High Hurstwood School return in September, we would all be extremely greatful.
