UK Youth Parliament provides opportunities for young people aged between 11 and 18 to use their energy and passion to change the world for the better.
Once elected Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs), and their deputies (DMYPs), make change in their communities, council-areas and country. They do this through meeting with MPs and local councillors, organising events, running campaigns, making speeches, hosting debates, and ensuring the views of young people are listened to by decision makers all on a shoestring budget.
Currently delivered by the British Youth Council, these elected youth representatives are given the training and support to use their elected voice to bring about positive social change.
Friends of UKYP are a network of alumni, parents and supporters of the initiative, who are passionate about providing the funding needed to ensure that MYPs and DMYPs, from all backgrounds, are supported to make the world more justice for young people. Through the MYP Campaign Fund we will give a much needed boost to the campaign led by young people for young people.
