Story

Andriy (above) served for two years on the frontline before being discharged with a back injury and severe concussion. With the help of Ruthenia he has not only started his own catering business but also supports other veterans. "I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t co-ordinate my movements. It was very difficult to adapt. The people at Ruthenia, they put their whole soul into it, they spared no effort, no resources of their own”.
The need
Ukraine is expecting that by the end of this war 6 million veterans will need support, many of whom will have experienced psychological trauma, physical injuries, or both. In the city of Poltava alone there are 11,000 veterans.
The project
This campaign is run by The Two Walters, a UK charity supporting Ruthenia's social workers, psychologists, and volunteers who provide rehabilitation and education for veterans, their families, health and social workers and potential employers.
