Respond works solely with autistic people and people with learning disabilities.
We are the only National charity that uses psychotherapy to reduce the impact of abuse and trauma, over 40% of the children and adults that use our therapy services have experienced sexual abuse or assault.
Our specialist Survivor programmes for young people and adults who have experienced domestic abuse or sexual violence provides weekly therapy sessions over a year, in the same space, with the same therapist, at the same time of the week.
86% of clients that have used our Survivor service over the last 12 months have improved wellbeing, feel more able to make sense of their experience and go on to make healthy relationship choices.
We are Respond, will you?
Our face-to-face or telephone counselling and group sessions provide a space for families of autistic people and people with learning disabilities who have experienced loss, harm or institutional abuse to feel better understood, less isolated and more connected.
Respond’s help has been invaluable, we were in crisis, and I don't know where we would be without them. (Family member)
We are Respond, will you?
Respond provides advocacy, advice and emotional support through its Independent Sexual Violence Advocacy and Domestic Violence Advocacy services. Our Courageous service offers one-to-one support and advocacy to young women aged 14-25 who have experienced any form of gender-based violence.
