Story
The Very Green Grocery project collects around 400 tonnes of food a year. This is perfectly edible, surplus food that otherwise would go into the ground.
But we could collect more…
We don’t have the ability to collect all frozen or freezable food as we don’t have the storage capacity and so we need to raise funds to buy an industrial size freezer. With the additional storage space we can save more food from going into landfill and help more families and people in the community to access low cost, high quality groceries.
Here is an illustration of the freezer that we are hoping for. Having a large walk in freezer space will enabled us to save SO much more, and feed so many more families.

We currently pay around £2,500 a month in utility bills – money which we could use on other community projects – and our walk in freezer will help us save money as it will replace at least 6 chest freezers.
Walk in freezers are costly and so we’re having to fundraise for one. Can you help us to help more people by donating to our campaign?
