Story

Fumble is a new, exciting sex education charity in the UK. We create happy, healthy digital content with young people, for young people.

Fumble is a free digital sex ed platform, covering topics that have been traditionally left out of mainstream provision of sex ed. This includes the needs and experiences of: LGBTQ+ young people, those living with disability, those struggling with their mental health, and those from minority ethnic groups.

Sex education has never been more needed. We're bringing sex education into the digital age, and we need your help. Join the sex ed revolution and support us today!

We believe that all young people deserve quality, accurate education about sex, relationships, our bodies, our identities and our mental health. Fumble responds to the reality that young people face growing up today, with its unprecedented challenges - particularly posed by growing up alongside the internet and smartphones. It's a safe, non-judgemental, trustworthy place to ask questions and find quality answers.

We put young people's voices at the heart of everything we do, and in all the content we produce, through our dynamic co-creation process. Everything we do is almost entirely volunteer-led.

Why do we need Fumble?

Right now, young people are really struggling. We live a huge part of our lives online, and the challenges that we face as a result when it comes to sex, relationships, our identities and our mental health are massive.

From issues like sexting, to porn, including revenge porn, to online bullying and grooming, to self-harm and suicide ideation, to alt-right ideologies getting us hooked on harmful ideas of gender, particularly masculinity, and more.

This is as well as old-school, offline issues we still face: too afraid to ask what's happening when our periods start; unable to identify basic parts of human genitalia, understand what they do, and to know when something's wrong; young LGBTQ+ people needing support as they work out how they fit into the world; young people struggling with mental health issues (particularly in this pandemic).

We turn to the internet, but the content is currently rubbish: uninspiring, unhealthy, or even unsafe.

This is where Fumble comes in.

We create exciting, relatable content on intimacy, relationships, identity, health and wellbeing. Quizzes, blogs, top tips, advice, illustrations, animations, podcasts and more.

We're active on social channels providing quality, free sex education content every day, and our website is our main hub. Engaging, relevant, inclusive and diverse: we're the new, go-to online resource on sex and relationships for young people.

Through our Youth Advisory Board, our team of 25+ young volunteers, and our work with schools and universities across the UK, our co-creation programme puts young peoples voices at the heart of everything we do. It means Fumble is always relevant to both the issues that young people are facing, and the types of content they're excited about and sharing online.

We recently gained charity status in the UK (registered charity no. 1188089). We now need your help to make it happen.

How can you support Fumble?

Fumble's peer-to-peer approach to creating digital content makes us totally unique on the sex education landscape today. We're inundated with young people who are excited by Fumble and want to get involved, and we need your help to respond.

Here are three ways you can support us right now ...

1. A one-off gift

£15 will pay for our content to reach an additional 100,000 young people online

£50 will allow us to train one young person to join our digital content volunteer team

£250 will pay for one of our sex education and content co-creation workshops in a UK state school

Any amount more or less than those is wonderful, even £2 really helps! If you're interested in becoming a major donor to Fumble, please see more info here, and get in touch with Lucy to discuss: lucy@fumble.org.uk

2. A monthly donation

A monthly donation is the best way to donate to Fumble. It allows us to plan ahead, and keeps us sustainable. Give a monthly donation and become a Friend of Fumble here.

As a thank you gift, if you give a monthly donation to Fumble of £5 or more, we will send you a limited edition Fumble goody bag!

3. Fundraise for us

We would love you to run your own fundraiser for us. Running a 10k, hosting a book club, or doing a livestream fundraiser while you game - anything you want to do, it really, really helps!
