For four years, Picnic in the Park has been the heartbeat of North Shields, a day where Northumberland Square comes alive with music, laughter, and community spirit. But to make the music happen on Saturday, 6th June 2026, we need your help to Save Our Stage.

A Platform for Local Young Talent

At the core of this event is a mission to provide a professional spotlight for our incredible local young talent. For many young musicians and performers from North Shields and the surrounding area, this stage represents their first chance to perform in front of a live crowd.

It’s about more than just a performance; it’s about building confidence, providing professional opportunity, and giving our youth a voice.

We are passionately committed to keeping Picnic in the Park 100% free of charge. In a time when family days out are becoming increasingly expensive, we believe every neighbour should be able to enjoy high-quality live entertainment regardless of their budget.

However, professional staging, sound engineering, and safety equipment are our biggest costs. By donating to our stage fund, you aren’t just paying for equipment, you are ensuring that this celebration of North Shields remains accessible to every single person in our community.
