Our service is available to anyone over the age of 18 who may be socially isolated, elderly, or vulnerable. We support clients with the following needs: mental health (depression & anxiety), dementia, social isolation, neurodiversity, brain injury and stroke survivors. We provide clients and their carers with support at home and in the community. We support people to develop independent living skills and break social isolation, increasing their involvement in the local community. We encourage clients to develop life skills, engage in social activities and build their self-esteem and confidence, allowing carers time to pursue their own interests or simply time to relax. Our support is person centered, setting achievable goals with the person we support, working in partnership with local agencies to achieve the best outcomes. We fund raise for our Activities Project which allows clients to access their local community and to pursue their own interests with a support worker improving both their mental and physical wellbeing. It also reduces social isolation and encourages social engagement; clients reconnect with their local community and / or individuals with similar interests. Examples of existing activities include going shopping, attending the hairdressers, going to the golf driving range, swimming, attending yoga classes, arts and crafts and visiting the cinema and museums.

Story

Essex Respite & Care Association provide a much needed service throughout Essex to adults with the following needs: mental health, dementia, social isolation, neurodiversity, brain injury and stroke survivors.

We support our clients in their homes and to access their local communities. For some this could be the only face-to-face human interaction they have all week.

The charity really needs donations to be able to continue to provide a service that support clients to access meaningful activities.
