FURD Women's Football Club

We want to set up an 11-a-side women's football team to play in the local league, to support the inclusion of under-represented groups in football and act as a progression route from our recreational football sessions.

Football Unites Racism Divides (FURD) is a youth and social inclusion project and charity based in Sheffield, England, which works locally, nationally and internationally to combat racism and increase understanding between different communities.

Story

Football Unites, Racism Divides has been running free recreational football sessions for women at the U-Mix Centre, Sheffield, since 2013, attracting a diverse group. Some of our players have experienced barriers, including cost, to joining teams. We believe a FURD 11-a-side team would act as a much-needed progression route from our more casual sessions, but we need to make it affordable for the players.

Estimated costs for 2025-26 season:

Hire of pitch and changing rooms: £1550

Hire of training pitch: £1000

Referees fees: £450

Equipment: £100

Affiliation fee: £36.50

Transport: £150

Total: £3,286.50
