Every year, over 67,000 rabbits enter UK rescues. For each of these rescues, winter is often one of the busiest times. At Furlock Holmes, we work to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome as many animals as we can, but this isnt cheap. To neuter, vaccinate and health check each and every animal that comes into our care, it costs us approximately £120 (for a rabbit). This does not include any additional veterinary care or treatment they may need which can easily cost over £100, e.g. dental work from not having hay, abscesses from infected wounds and poor development from growing up in a tiny space.
As it gets colder, more and more pet owners no longer want to go outside to care for their rabbits and our phone doesnt stop ringing with animals needing our help. We take in as many animals as we can, but with this comes the cost of more vet care, more food and more winter bedding.
This is where we need your help. Can you donate to help fund our work? Do you like baking cakes? What are your thoughts on dressing up for Christmas? How about a sponsored dog walk? Any help fundraising is greatly appreciated by the team and the animals at Furlock Holmes. Whether its money, toys or even old towels, donations big and small are a massive help. Thank you!
