Future in Focus

Campaign by East Sussex WRAS

Help WRAS purchase a new x-ray machine! We are fundraising to purchase a new x-ray machine, as the one we are currently using is needing urgent replacement, showing significant signs of age and usage.

East Sussex WRAS was established as a voluntary group in 1996, but founder Trevor Weeks has been rescuing wildlife since 1985. The charity was set up to provide a front-line rescue & hospital service for people finding wildlife casualties as well as offering advice and information.

Story

We are incredibly lucky to have an in-house veterinary team who are able to provide immediate care and attention to casualties which come through our door. Our equipment therefore, is subject to high levels of use and occasionally require replacement.

Our x-ray machine is a vital piece of veterinary equipment. It enables us to safely and quickly assess casualties for any injuries and make a treatment plan accordingly. It enables us to see if there are any internal, unseen injuries which require attention. However our current machine is in desperate need of an upgrade.

Without an x-ray machine, we simply would not be able to continue the work we do. We would not be able to assess casualties at our centre, requiring support of services off site - delaying diagnostic findings and leading to an increase in stress for the wildlife casualty.

Help us to fund a new x-ray machine today, to allow us to continue helping the thousands of casualties which come through our door every year.

Any excess funds will go towards improving our wider veterinary equipment.
