Story
On Sunday 21st September, AFC Fylde Community Foundation staff, partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries will walk across the Borough of Fylde to raise vital funds to provide disadvantaged children and young people in Fylde access to funded sports provision in their local area.
For every £10 that is donated, your money will feed two children who receive means-tested free school meals during term time but go without this support during half-terms. As a result of your generosity we are proudly able to continue supporting these families throughout times of need, and ensure as many children as possible maintain a positive relationship with physical activity and social engagement.
Our target is to raise a minimum of £2500 which will provide no less than 100 available free spaces over the course of our half-term holiday camps.
Starting in Elswick and finishing in St. Anne’s, the 20-mile route will shine a light on the real challenges faced by many in our community, especially young people who face challenges to access services and provisions due to financial, transport, or accessibility barriers.
Along the way, we will be stopping off at local community points that showcase and celebrate the work we do across the Borough, thanks to the incredible support of our partner organisations and funders.
We are encouraging everyone to get involved - whether you join us for the full distance or you come along for a small part, we would love to see as many people as possible supporting our community.
