Story
As the UK’s leading WPS network, GAPS convenes, coordinates and leads collective policy and advocacy on UK and global WPS commitments. Through our research, evidence, and convening power, we strengthen the capacity and collective influence of organisations working to advance the WPS agenda both domestically and internationally.
Founded to progress UN Security Council Resolution 1325, GAPS advances the rights of women and girls across all contexts - before, during and after conflict, and in situations of crisis, insecurity, stabilisation, development and peace. We promote approaches that recognise the interconnectedness of peace, rights and security, ensuring that the WPS agenda is applied consistently, not only in times of emergency.
At a time of rising global conflict, rollback on women and girl’s rights and increasing backlash against gender equality, independent WPS expertise and accountability are more essential than ever. Your support enables GAPS to remain a strong, evidence driven voice championing the leadership and experiences of women, girls and marginalised groups whose needs are too often overlooked in policy and practice.
