Story

The Volunteer's Garden

This Garden tells a story of care and human connection, inspired by the volunteers of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, whose dedication helps sustain the hospice gardens.

Supporting people living with life-limiting illnesses and those close to them, the design features a prairie-style border of flowing grasses and late-season perennials beneath a multi-stem birch.

A curved path suggests a shared journey, while a simple bench, with a mug of tea and garden fork, pays a quiet tribute to the volunteers.

Planting is drawn from the hospice gardens, and mirrors the design in memory, warmth, reflection, and quiet optimism.
