Story

Our annual street sleep is back on with a difference - join us from the safety of your home for the biggest back garden camping extravaganza ever. Help us to raise vital funds to tackle food poverty and homelessness during this most challenging time.

There has been an unprecedented demand for the charity's services, in particular, The Brick's Wigan town centre foodbank, since the outbreak of the COVID-19 crisis. In the last 3 weeks weeks, there has been an 295% increase in demand for food parcels overall, and the charity has recorded a 348% increase in the need for food parcels for children.

The Brick's donated food bank stock has decreased by 73% since the start of the crisis last month. This has been due, in the main, to the closure of the charity's Wigan and Leigh retail shops and the end of fundraising initiatives from the charity's many supporters; all income streams used to sustain the food bank.

On Friday 24th April we are inviting as many people and families as possible to join us sleeping out under the stars or even in a makeshift den in the living room!! All we ask in return is to raise awareness and vital funds by making a donation towards our front line work at www.justgiving.com/thebrick-project.
