Gary's Wing Walk for Darwin, Samuel and Guido

Organised by The Wildheart Trust

My name is Gary and I am an Animal Carer at The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary raising funds for our tawny owl, Darwin, and cockatoos Samuel and Guido. To do this I am planning to face my fears and complete a Wing Walk.

Story

Hi there!

Thank you for visiting our page, it means so much that you are here and reading my story.

My name is Gary and I am an Animal Carer at The Wildheart Animal Sanctuary on the Isle of Wight which is home to many animals that have not had the nicest start in life. We are here to provide them with safe forever homes and ensure they can enjoy the life they deserve.

The reason I am raising money is for three very special birds who have found their home with us our Tawny Owl Darwin and Cockatoos Samuel and Guido. They have such brilliant personalities and absolutely full of character so they are loved by our visitors and staff alike.

It is our ambition to revamp their aviaries and give them the luxury of a first class space to spread their wings and live life to the full. Unfortunately we dont have the funds to bring our vision to life and we are asking for your help.

Which is where I come in and the Wing Walk begins. Now dont get me wrong, I love flying. Before Covid I flew all over the world for work and for pleasure. Madagascar, the USA, all across Europe, Australia, Asia you name it. Inside the cabin with the inflight entertainment and a Gin and Tonic I am happy as Larry.

But for Darwin, Samuel and Guido I am going to go one huge, wild, crazy step further. On the 12th of August I am going to be strapped to the top of an aeroplane while it takes off and flies around at speeds of over 120mph.

It is fair to say that I am absolutely petrified of heights and terrified at the prospect of doing this Wing Walk. But we are looking to raise serious amounts of money for the new aviary and I wanted to face my fears and do something worthy of your donations.

So please consider donating to this wonderful cause and helping us to develop their aviaries. We just want them to live long, happy and healthy lives in as natural environment as possible. Every penny and every pound will help us get that little bit closer to providing Darwin, Samuel and Guido with fantastic homes and the first class aviaries that they deserve.

I wouldnt strap myself to the top of an aeroplane travelling at 120mph for just anybody.

Thank you

Gary
