Schreiber Institute for Women's Leadership

The Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership exists to advance women personally and professionally at every stage of their careers.

Story

The Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership exists to advance women personally and professionally at every stage of their careers. We work to build a strong, equitable workforce—one where women can lead confidently, contribute fully, and create lasting impact in the organizations and communities they serve.

Our mission is carried out through education, inspiration, and connection. The Institute offers a variety of programs that bring learners, employers, and community partners together, including our annual Celebrate Women’s Leadership and Empowerment event, monthly networking opportunities, and leadership development courses designed to support women from early‑career through executive levels.

By fostering inclusive spaces where individuals can learn, grow, and build meaningful relationships, the Institute helps shape a more innovative, resilient, and competitive regional workforce. When women have access to the resources, mentorship, and support they need, everyone benefits—businesses strengthen, communities thrive, and the region becomes better positioned for long‑term economic success.

The Schreiber Institute is committed to empowering women, elevating diverse voices, and driving forward a culture of equity that supports the future of our region.

Investing in the Schreiber Institute for Women’s Leadership is an investment in the economic strength, innovation, and long‑term well‑being of our region. When women are overlooked, under‑supported, or under‑represented, organizations and communities lose out on talent and leadership that drive progress. The impact is real—and it affects all of us.

Recent findings from McKinsey & Company’s Women in the Workplace 2025 report highlight what’s at stake:

• Only about half of organizations are actively prioritizing women’s career advancement, continuing a multiyear decline in commitment to gender equity.

• Women are reporting lower interest in pursuing promotions compared to men.

• The ambition gap nearly disappears when women receive equitable support, sponsorship, and access to opportunity.

• Women continue to experience unequal access to sponsorship and manager advocacy, limiting advancement across the pipeline.

At UW–Green Bay, we recognize that equitable support matters. When individuals feel seen, encouraged, and sponsored, they step forward—and organizations thrive.

The Schreiber Institute exists to close these gaps. But we cannot do it alone.

Your support helps:

• Close the leadership gap by ensuring women have the tools, mentorship, and opportunities needed to advance.

• Strengthen the regional workforce by elevating early‑career and under‑represented talent.

• Expand access through scholarships, community partnerships, and inclusive programming.

• Amplify women’s voices, building a more innovative and prosperous future for Northeast Wisconsin.

While our partners—including Schreiber and many local businesses—have helped the Institute grow, sustaining this momentum requires ongoing community investment. Donor support fuels the programs, resources, and connections that help women lead boldly and lift others with them.

Your gift fuels real change. Together, we can empower more women to lead boldly, contribute fully, and lift others along the way—one leader at a time.
