Grampian Child Bereavement Network is a local registered charity who since 2009 provide direct support to bereaved children and young people throughout Grampian. We joined The ARCHIE Foundation family of funds in 2019. We believe that children and young people given the appropriate support, information and guidance will manage their grief.
Our services include; A telephone service to give advice and support both in the immediate aftermath and at a later date if required, a trained volunteer responder service who work with families on a one to one basis, a book gifting service with over 50 specialist titles giving families the words and opportunity to discuss and support, Activity Days for children and their carers, Training for other professionals on how best to support the bereaved
GCBN has two part-time employees. Our coordinator and fundraiser are based in the ARCHIE office at Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital.
COVID 19 has meant all face to face activities are currently suspended but our support continues. We available on our telephone 01224 554152 and email GCBN@archie.org and our Facebook page will host some Facebook Live Q & A sessions. We will do all we can to support both our current families and any new families who lose loved ones regardless of their cause of death. Families take great comfort in the support we provide for them. We appreciate this is a difficult time for everyone, but any donation to help us continue our work here in Grampian is greatly received.
