Story

Together with Colchesters Anti Loo Roll Brigade, St Helena Hospice has launched the #GetColchesterCovered campaign, raising funds to buy vital personal protective equipment (PPE) for staff and volunteers working at St Helena Hospice, in care homes, and voluntary and community care providers in Colchester.

Every day thousands of local people; our family, friends and neighbours, are continuing to work at The Hospice, in the community, and in care homes to care for the vulnerable, the elderly, and the ill, providing vital support to those who need it, when they need it.

Many people within our local community have reached out via the Anti-Loo Roll Brigade Facebook group, expressing concern for their loved ones working on the frontline, worrying that the PPE will run out and they will be left at risk.

If you are able to, a donation to this campaign will help us to purchase PPE to help those people right now, and will provide some relief to their loved ones waiting at home.

We estimate that around £15,000 will help us to source and buy enough PPE to protect the staff and volunteers working on the frontline in local heath and care organisations for a few weeks, until the appointed national suppliers can catch up with their orders and deliver their supplies.

St Helena Hospice will work with local health and care partners to distribute the supplies we buy to the organisations in need.

Anything raised above what we need to buy PPE at the end of this campaign will be split evenly between St Helena Hospice and Community 360 to go towards general running costs.

Thank you for any support you're able to give us.
