Story

Investing in Future Generations

In February 2017, Sanjeev and Nicola Gupta launched the Gupta Family Group Foundation (GFG Foundation) in the UK, a registered charity, with the aim of developing the skills needed to help people start and continue working in specific industries, notably engineering, metals and renewable energy.

All our programmes involve students working directly with mentors from GFG Alliance businesses who are keen to share their knowledge, skills, passion and expertise, across a range of industry areas.

The Foundation developed its first national partnership in the UK with the highly acclaimed Industrial Cadets programme, inspired by His Majesty King Charles and delivered by the Engineering Development Trust (EDT).

In 2019, the GFG Foundation launched a school’s programme in Whyalla, South Australia. The programme expanded as part of a collaboration with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and The King’s Trust Australia, and is now in several regions including Tasmania, Tahmoor and Brisbane.

In May 2022, the GFG Foundation in Romania, in partnership with LIBERTY Galati, launched our dual education programme, run in collaboration with the Paul Dimo Vocational School in Galati and UK based education provider Rewise Learning.

The GFG Foundation launched in the Czech Republic in July 2022. Working in partnership with LIBERTY Ostrava, the GFG Foundation Student Programme runs in collaboration with the Electrotechnical High School in Ostrava and UK based education provider Rewise Learning.
