Story

The Trafalgar Spirit continues on the 21st of October 2023! Fresh off the success of 2022's Rock 'Relay' Run, the team will return to Gibraltar to commemorate the anniversary of the Royal Navy’s most famous triumph at the Battle of Trafalgar, 219 years ago, with an even bigger and better Run.

A team of veterans, serving personnel, civilians and local Gibraltarian business owners will take on the ultimate challenge this Trafalgar Day: a 12-hour relay up and down the 1,398 ft high Rock of Gibraltar, all to raise money for their fellow veterans through veteran support charity Waterloo Uncovered and local Gibraltarian mental health charity the Clubhouse.

Waterloo Uncovered is the groundbreaking charity combining a world-class archaeology project at the site of the Battle of Waterloo with support for the military community, using discovery to aid recovery. In addition to their on-site excavation programme, the charity runs online programmes to support veterans regardless of their location or physical abilities. All WU programmes feature year round welfare support, focussing on five key areas: Recovery (mental and physical), Wellbeing, Transition into Civilian Life, Education and Employment.
