Who are Blockley Friends of the School?
We support Blockley C of E Primary School by raising funds to support education progress and academic success. In previous years, we have provided funding for additional maths resources, new reading scheme books, new ICT equipment and upgrading the school WiFi system. Like many charities, we've struggled to continue our normal levels of fundraising due to COVID-19 so we're delighted you are supporting the Gingerbread Trail.
We're really excited to bring the whole community together while raising some much-needed funds. People from all across the picturesque village of Blockley village have been busy crafting, decorating, and lighting displays outside their homes for you to enjoy while taking a stroll; we hope you enjoy the event.
The Trail...
Grab a hot chocolate or a mulled wine from our local shop, cafe or pubs and take a walk through the winding streets of Blockley, hunting for the elusive gingerbread men. We've highlighted over 60 locations where you might spot a gingerbread character dressed in a festive jumper, designed by local children. There are loads of festively decorated windows, walls, doors, gates and trees to enjoy as you walk around.
There is lots to see whatever time of day you choose to walk the trail but if you are lucky enough to visit at dusk, the lights will shimmer and shine. Don't forget to print an activity sheet to enjoy while you walk the trail. Download the pdf here ACTIVITY SHEET
The trail runs from 11th December 2021 to 2nd January 2022.
The Map...
You can download a map below, which will show you where to go and what to find. We really appreciate your support and suggest a minimum donation of £1 per person. Every little helps though and we would be delighted to receive each and every donation. If you love the trail as much as we do, please donate what you can and share the fundraising link with friends and family.
The map highlights parking options and where you can buy refreshments.

How will my donation help?
Because this is a whole community event, we have pledged to share our profits with local charity, Headspace who support young people struggling to cope with the ups and downs of life.
The remaining money raised will contribute to fund a range of equipment and activities at school, whenever these needs cannot otherwise be resourced.
The FAQs...

The important bits...

Please follow the latest government guidelines relating to COVID-19 at all times and read the information at www.blockleyprimaryschool.co.uk/the-team/fos to get the most out of your Gingerbread Trail experience.
