Gorwelion is Girlguiding Central Glamorgan's wonderful home by the sea, which is near Porthcawl in South Wales. With stunning views of the coastline from both campsites and the house it really is a special place! From the house you can see for miles, watch the beautiful wildlife, whilst being surrounded by nature.

Girlguiding at Gorwelion is dedicated to creating a better world. It's all about seeing the young people smile when they try something new or achieve something they thought was impossible. The sky really is the limit!

Gorwelion opened in 1944. It's a safe haven where young people can find their voice, build skills and confidence and gain independence. Gorwelion inspires them to discover the best in themselves whilst empowering them to make a positive difference to their community and the world around them. Gorwelion offers experiences that are adventurous, fun and accessible; encouraging ‘learning by doing’. Gorwelion is a place where truly special memories are made as well as friendships that will last a lifetime!

The projects for 2024 include; a new kitchen floor in the house and work surfaces, modernising the camp toilet block and improving the area around the camp store. We are also considering ways to ensure that the site is accessible for all to enjoy.
