On Giving Tuesday this year, 3 December, we’re calling on our community to help us raise £3,800 in just 24 hours to purchase a brand-new bespoke rise-and-recliner chair for one of our in-patient rooms at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice.
These chairs are essential for providing comfort, dignity, and moments of normality to our patients. The chairs allow patients to spend time out of bed, feeling more at home and able to connect with their loved ones, especially during family visits at Christmas.
When our in-patient unit opened in 2020, we carefully designed these bespoke chairs with our supplier to meet the unique needs of our patients. Now, after years of dedicated use, they need replacing. Unfortunately, these items aren’t funded by the NHS, so we rely on the generosity of supporters like you to continue delivering the care and comfort our patients deserve.
Every donation makes a difference, helping us ensure that our patients and their families can make the most of the precious time they have together.
One family recently shared:
"Having a comfortable chair in the room made such a difference to our visits. Mum felt more like herself when she could sit up and chat with us. It meant everything to have those special moments together."
With your support this Christmas, you’ll be helping people like the one above, ensuring they have the care and comfort they need, now and in the future.
Donate today: Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us get closer to our target.
Share our campaign: Spread the word and help us reach more people who care about making a difference.
Together, we can continue providing the vital services our community relies on. From all of us at the Countess of Brecknock Hospice, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Give the gift of comfort and care this Christmas—it’s a gift that will truly mean the world.
