Giving Mewsday
When we hear the 'mew' of a cat in need, there's nothing that will stop us giving them the second chance they deserve. Can we count on you to rise to the challenge for unwanted, stray, neglected and abused cats this Giving Tuesday?
Our campaign is now complete. 2 supporters helped us raise £30.00

The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.

RSPCA Cornwall Branch is not funded by the RSPCA. The £800,000 a year it costs to run our rehoming centre is funded purely by our supporters. We have energy, water and veterinary bills just like any other rescue and with the rising cost-of-living, we need your support more than ever.
Without donations from the public, we simply wouldn't be able to open our doors to animals in need...
(Wonky Waldo the stray cat)
When we first met Waldo, he was just a typical example of an entire the male that had been left to fend for himself. He was covered in fight wounds, fleas, an injury to his eye, horrid teeth and a weak underweight body, but regardless of all the time, effort and finances that Waldo would need, our cattery team were determined to give Waldo the life he deserved. After 2 months of care and treatment, Waldo was finally ready to be adopted and at 10 years old, a wonderful family came forward to offer him a safe, loving forever home.
(Beautiful Barry the unwanted cat)
17 year old Barry came to us after he wasn't getting on with the dog in the home. He wasn't in the best of health, but our super team got to work and started giving Barry to TLC he needed. After we rid him of his pesky fleas, removed most of his rotten teeth and gave him some much-needed eye treatment, Barry started to finally feel comfortable and happy. 9 weeks later, sweet Barry stole the hearts of his new adopters and will not be living out his retirement years surrounded by devotion and love.
Not only do we rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of cats every year, but we also allocate funds to supporting the cats in our community. We have been running our cat neutering scheme for years now which financially supports those on low income with neutering their cats. The owner pays £10 per cat, and we pay the remainder of the vet bill. This scheme has helped thousands of cats get neutered to decrease the number of unwanted cats in Cornwall.
We are here to support people, not remove their pets. Sometimes people fall on hard times and if they ask for help, we'll of course give them the support they need.
Our support to local cats doesn't end their though. We have also issue hundreds of Welfare Assistance vouchers to owners in need who are struggling to pay their cat's veterinary bill. This is an important scheme to us as it allows doting pet owners to keep their pets happy and healthy when they've fallen on hard times.
Without people like you, we cannot help cats like Waldo and Barry. Last year, we rescued and rehomed 208 cats and this year, we're on track to help more than previous years! We know the cost-of-living crisis and inflation is hitting everyone hard but as a charity, we are feeling the pressure more than ever to help our community.
