Story

Hadeel is a dedicated nurse in Gaza with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science. She has devoted her life to caring for others, but now struggles to find basic medicine or safety for herself. Supporters in Scotland led by Kimberley Pearson/Mental Health Workers UK 4 Palestine have raised £20,000 to bring Hadeel to Glasgow University for post-graduate studies BUT TIME IS RUNNING OUT. A total of £35,000 is needed to cover fees, accommodation, living costs and travel. We are trying to help with some fundraising of our own to ensure that Hadeel does not miss this vital opportunity to further her studies this September.

Stepping Forward supports the training of professionals in areas related to disability and health issues. Qualified health professionals are essential for supporting the severe and complex health challenges facing the population of Gaza. One in four Gazans has acquired a new disability requiring treatment and rehabilitation since October 2023 (UN 2025). Meanwhile healthcare capacity in Gaza has been greatly reduced with over 1700 health workers killed to date in the same period. Supporting Palestinian health workers to develop essential new skills is a practical way to support communities in Gaza.
