It’s time to get active, have fun, and get moving in May. Move your way while raising funds for physio equipment that will benefit the people we support with Brain Injuries.
We launched Get Moving in May in 2024, with the aim of covering 1,000 miles throughout the month - the distance between our 13 specialist neurological rehabilitation services. People really got involved and we ended up covering nearly 9,000 miles, while raising a brilliant £1,925.45.
This year, we’re setting our sights even higher, with a collective target of 10,000 miles. We’d love to raise £5,000 – that’s just 50p a mile!
We will combine everyone’s achievements which will help us all reach Brainkinds overall target.
Last year, we had people walking, cycling and swimming to contribute to our mileage. The people we support also got involved – we heard about some amazing activities in our services including Tai Chi, football, chair yoga and strengthening exercises. It’s all about moving in your own way.
Perhaps you could set yourself your own personal target? It’s your choice how you take part as long as you can keep a track of your distance!

Physical movement has powerful benefits as part of the rehabilitation of people we support. It can increase overall health, improve flexibility and strengthen muscles. Exercise has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, improve mood, and boost self-esteem.
