For the past 11 years, Gazelle Sports has partnered with Hulst Jepsen to host the Gobble Wobble 5k run, where proceeds from the event benefits Kids' Food Basket.

Hunger is both a symptom and a cause of poverty. Kids' Food Basket addresses immediate hunger needs and ensures long term impact through daily nourishment and education.

Pre-COVID-19, Kids' Food Basket served over 8,800 kids at 52 schools where 70% or more of the student population received free or reduced-cost lunch in Kent, Muskegon, Ottawa and Allegan counties.

In March, when schools closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, Kids' Food Basket responded with an emergency food provision strategy for the four counties they serve. Nearly 500,000 healthy emergency meals have been served to 70 distribution sites throughout the pandemic. These emergency meals were distributed to organizations, schools and churches located in densely populated areas serving low-income families or individuals identified as high need.

As a community-funded organization, Kids' Food Basket is honored to partner with the Gobble Wobble 5k an example of the community rallying together to support their most vulnerable neighbors. And to ensure that our children and families in West Michigan have access to good, healthy and life-affirming meals.

Gobble Wobble takes place on one of the most active days of the year Thanksgiving! Kids, adults and even dogs from all over West Michigan have signed up for this event. With a portion of proceeds donated to Kids' Food Basket, participants help make a change in our community one finish line at a time.
