Protecting the environment is important to every child’s future. It is also important to the wider community which St Stephens is a part of. In typical St Stephens style, the school wants to lead by example.
It therefore wants to start green initiatives which involve the children, this will include growing food for the school kitchen, composting, water conservation and encouraging wildlife. This will enrich their learning and develop their understanding of the natural world. But the ultimate goal is become a net zero school.
The key first step to this is for the school to obtain a green survey. The school has been given a quote of £5,000 for this survey. This will enable the school to work out short term and long term steps that need to be taken, and also enable it to start the process of applying for grants to fund the path to being a net zero school.
Therefore, given the importance the environment to the children, FOSS is fundraising specifically for these green goals. This in addition to FOSS's fundraising commitment for the school. Therefore it would be grateful for any contribution you can make to go towards the green survey it needs and its green initiatives.
