In May 2023, Gordon Primary School opened its Deep Blue Sea Library to promote reading for pleasure at the school. The library was made possible through Friends of the Gordon, with the generous donations and fundraising efforts of Gordon pupils, families and friends.

When the library opened, the Reading Fund was set up to support reading initiatives around the school, including ongoing maintenance of the library, the phonics and English curriculum at the school, and reading for pleasure resources and activities.
