Story
When the historic Seddon Memorial Hospital closed its doors after 100 years of service in 1999, the local community banded together to establish the new community-owned Gore Health to ensure local people had access to quality local healthcare.
Since then, Gore Health has continued to provide crucial services with ongoing support from government and our very own community. These services include a 24/7 Emergency Department, an inpatient ward, maternity services, Allied health, District nursing, GP Practice, Dental Practice and Molemap business.
Our Staff
Our dedicated staff are at the core of everything we do. They are an integral part of this wonderful community and their commitment to caring for local people is what makes Gore Hospital a special place.

Gore Health Ltd is committed to improving the health of our community by providing innovative, high quality, patient-focused healthcare. We continually strive to improve the quality and range of our services so that it exceeds the expectations of our patients and the community.
Our Charity
Gore Health’s shareholder is Gore & Districts Health Incorporated (GDHI). The GDHI Board is made up of elected and appointed local community representatives. Through the Board, the COMMUNITY owns the hospital building and plant, which are leased back to Gore Health Ltd to provide the services.
Alongside government funding, we rely on community donations, grants and bequests to provide the equipment and premises to support our critical services. We are most grateful to our supportive community for their continued support.
