Story

George is aged 6 months from Hale in Cheshire. He was born at 34 weeks after an emergency c section. In NICU he looked and acted like a typical baby, but unfortunately after 48 hours he suddenly went limp and lost all his reflexes. We still don't know what caused George's condition, but the doctors found he had been without oxygen at some point before birth. An MRI revealed severe brain damage.

After a long 10 weeks in hospital, with many ups and downs, George was finally discharged home. He currently has issues with feeding and is delayed with his gross motor milestones. For example, he can’t sit. In spite of this he is a happy and calm baby, who really wants to be engaged and loves his big sister.

We are determined to give George the best opportunities in life and let him reach his full potential – whatever that may be. This means lots of time, and sadly money, is spent on therapy. We have already seen some improvements and will dedicate as much as we can to continuing these therapies, which have so far included: physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, osteopath and chiropractor appointments. In the future we will also be undertaking feeding therapy, including a trip to Ne York to work with one of the world leaders in paediatric eating and swallowing.

Thank you.
