Story

What do we need?

The Pavilion Theatre in Gorleston has always been well known for being a comfortable, warm and inviting place to relax and see a show. For a building that is now over 117 years old it has been doing pretty well!

Over the years we've had to make small repairs to our roof to patch leaks and upgrades to our heating system to keep the place warm. However as we receive no grants or funding of any kind, we've only been able to make small repairs and we don't currently have any air conditioning to keep the Theatre cool in the summer.

This fundraiser will help us to make sure we can keep our audiences comfortable whatever the weather! - Alex Youngs, Trustee

As part of our brand new 125 Restoration Fund, most recently supported by international film director Danny Boyle, the time has now come to make sure our building is properly weathertight and to install a modern temperature control system.

Our Fundraiser

We're in the process of making applications to various charitable funds for grants to completely refurbish and restore this magnificent Edwardian building, but as we rely on 'bums-on-seats' to keep our Theatre alive, we need some help to achieve these goals.

That's why we've launched this brand new fundraiser, to allow us to cover the cost of making our roof weathertight to keep out the rain, and to install a modern dual-temperature control system, that will keep our patrons warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Keeping the building weathertight is important to allow the larger refurbishment and restoration work to begin - Stuart Malkovich, Theatre Director

ANYTHING you may be able to give to help support this vital work will be massively appreciated by all of our staff, volunteers and customers, whether you are a regular, a local business or have just seen our cause and want to give us your support!

What's next?

Well, once we've made sure that we can keep everyone comfortable (whatever the weather!), we'll focus on our next set of projects that will help to completely renovate and refurbish this magnificent Edwardian building.

Keep an eye on our Restoration page for more details - and thank you for your support!
