I am walking over 28 days; 120 miles to fight children's cancer in loving memory of my beautiful Granddaughter Aoife.
On 7th July my Granddaughter Aoife, tragically and unexpectedly passed away at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
Aoife had had her cancer diagnosis for just 5 days, aged 3.
My daughter, Eilish - had taken Aoife to her GP or A&E in excess of 10 times leading up to Aoife's passing and was fobbed off and discharged despite her protests.
Aoife - had a type of cancer called Germ Cell Cancer which is over 90% reactive to chemotherapy when caught early enough.
Given Aoife's sinister symptoms, she SHOULD have been referred sooner to gain further testing. She should be here now.
I am 70 this year, and recovering from prostate cancer myself. But this is nothing compared to what happened to Aoife. So, I am walking over the next 28 days 120 miles no matter the weather to raise funds for Aoife's Bubbles Charity, to stop this from happening to another family like mine.
