Story
I was brought up, and now work, at Easter Bucklyvie Farm in Fife and I have always admired the positive message that RSABI promotes across Scottish agriculture. Farming can often feel like a lonely job, but the reality is that we're all in this together.
The support RSABI provides to farmers and their families is invaluable, helping to improve both mental and physical wellbeing as well as providing much-needed financial support and practical help when they need it most. And I want to support this as much as I can.
That's why I've decided to take on the London Marathon and raise money for RSABI, a charity that makes such a real difference to farmers and their families.
Running and I have had a mixed relationship over the years. I've completed three marathons and plenty of half marathons, although I still wouldn't describe myself as a runner, just someone who's reasonably good at putting one foot in front of the other!
The London Marathon has been a long-standing ambition of mine. I've entered the ballot every year since turning 18 and have never been lucky enough to secure a place. Now, I finally have the opportunity to run it while supporting a fantastic cause, and I'm excited to get to work with fundraising and training.
I'll be sharing my training journey, hoping to raise awareness and encourage support along the way. Every donation, no matter the size, will help RSABI continue providing vital support to people working in agriculture.
Thank you for supporting me and RSABI.
