Grantown's annual Festive Lights display, has been brightening up our High St and Square over Christmas and New Year for decades and brings a lot of special holiday magic to the town, for everyone who lives here.

This year, we will still have many of the familiar lights that have been adorning both the High Street and the lampposts and trees in the Square through the years, but we now urgently need to find the money to:

- purchase new ones to replace those that are failing

- help meet the increasing costs of repair and equipment to ensure the team's volunteers stay safe while putting the lights up and taking them down again to put into storage for the next year.

All of these costs - purchase, repair and installation - are done by the town's volunteers (under the umbrella of the Grantown Initiative) and without them, the illuminations simply would not light up ... or even appear! Many people still think it is the Highland Council that do all this, but they dont do any of it - it is totally down to volunteers in the community making it all happen. So please please give the community appeal your support.

We are inviting you to be a part of the Brighten Our Town: Grantown's Festive Lights Appeal - helping to make the town look cheerful and welcoming during the winter months. Your help can preserve Grantown's holiday spirit and keep this much loved tradition going for our community.

Your contributions will directly fund the costs of repairing the old lights, plus the purchase of new ones and also help with the fast increasing costs of hiring the safety equipment for the Festive LIghts team of volunteers to carry out the work.
