Story
π³ Every Step Holds a Memory
On Sunday 18 October at 10.30am, something special will happen across the Forest of Dean.
At the same time, people in Cinderford, Coleford, Lydney and Newent will set out on four local 5km walks with one shared purpose β to raise vital funds for Great Oaks Hospice and remember the people who mean so much to us.
Four towns. Four walks. One community.
π Who Will You Walk For?
For some, this will simply be a lovely morning spent with family and friends. For others, every step will carry a name, a face and a memory.
You might walk for someone you have lost. You might walk alongside someone you love. You might be saying thank you for the support your family has received, or you may simply want to help Great Oaks continue being there for others.
There is no right or wrong reason to take part.
βWalk for someone. Walk with someone. Walk to remember.β
πΏ Why Your Support Matters
Great Oaks Hospice provides care and support completely free of charge to people in our local community and their families.
That means when someone needs Great Oaks, the focus can be on receiving the care and support they need β not on what it will cost.
But providing that care free of charge is only possible with the continued generosity of the community around us.
By paying your entry fee, making a donation or raising sponsorship through the Great Great Oaks Walk, you are helping Great Oaks continue to be there for local people and their families.
π Come and Walk With Us
Each town will have its own approximately 5km route, with everyone setting off at 10.30am on Sunday 18 October.
Entry is Β£5 per person, and children under 15 can take part free of charge. Families and friends are welcome, and dogs can come along too, provided they are kept on a lead.
You don't need to be a serious walker. This isn't about being the quickest or crossing a finish line first.
It's about walking together.
β€οΈ Make Your Steps Mean Something
Choose Cinderford, Coleford, Lydney or Newent, bring the people who matter to you and join your community for the Great Great Oaks Walk.
And perhaps, before you set off, think about who you're walking for.
Because behind every step there can be a story.
Behind every donation there can be kindness.
And behind every memory there is someone who mattered.
Every step holds a memory. Every step matters.
Together, we can help keep Great Oaks care free for our community. π
