11.47 acres of land are at Rear Walker Street and Sumner Street adjacent to our Great Ledge property. The land includes both the wooded uplands as well as significant saltmarsh on both sides of Walker Creek. The purchase price for the Walker and Sumner Street properties is $80,000.
Closer to our Tompson Street Reservation, we have the opportunity to purchase 6.1 acres of land with frontage on Bray Street and significant wetland features.
Two beaver ponds, portions of well-worn trails, and classic mixed pitch pine and scrub oak forest are the noteworthy features. The purchase price for the Bray Street parcel is $25,000.
Greenbelt has until January 13, 2023 to raise funds and purchase these parcels.
