Help us build The Greatest Story Told

This Christmas, something extraordinary is coming to St Margaret’s Church, Rainham. We’re taking one of the most familiar stories in the world — the story of the birth of Jesus — and telling it in a completely new way.

With LEGO. Thousands and thousands of bricks. The Greatest Story Ever Built will transform our beautiful 800-year-old church into an immersive journey through 14 Stations of the Nativity. Visitors will follow the story from the angel’s extraordinary announcement to Mary, through Joseph’s dream and the journey to Bethlehem, to the birth of Jesus, the shepherds and angels, the arrival of the wise men and the Holy Family’s escape into Egypt.

But these won't simply be LEGO models sitting on tables. We want people to step into the story. Some stations will be small and intimate. Others will be spectacular installations combining LEGO with artwork, lighting, sound and movement. At the heart of the exhibition will be large-scale builds designed to make children and adults stop, look and experience this ancient story afresh.

And we need your help to build it. We need to raise £10,000

Creating something on this scale isn't cheap. Your donation will help pay for the LEGO, specialist builds, artwork, printing, lighting, displays and materials needed to turn an ambitious idea into reality.

Every £5, £10, £25 or £50 donation puts more bricks in our hands and takes us another step closer to bringing all 14 Stations of the Nativity to life. And it isn't just LEGO. There will be artwork, lighting, movement and displays — all combining to transform our 800-year-old church into an unforgettable Christmas experience.

You don't need to buy thousands of bricks. Just help us buy the next one.

Together, we can build The Greatest Story Ever Built.

It's about creating an experience that families will want to visit. It's about children discovering the Christmas story with wonder and imagination. It's about welcoming people into this ancient church who might never normally walk through its doors. And it's about telling a story of hope that has been told for more than 2,000 years in a way that has never been seen here before.

The Greatest Story Ever Told is about to become…

THE GREATEST STORY EVER BUILT
