Grooveschool by the Sea

Grooveschool is a grassroots charity dedicated to opening up the world of music production, DJing, and podcasting to everyone – regardless of age, ability, or background.

Our workshops empower young people and adults through hands-on music experiences that boost creativity, confidence, and connection. We work especially with those who are often excluded from traditional creative opportunities – including neurodivergent individuals, those facing mental health challenges, and communities on the fringes of society.

Why We Need Your Help

We’re raising funds to continue and expand our work – reaching more schools, community centres, and youth hubs with our unique, inclusive approach to music education. Your donation will help us:

-Run free and low-cost DJ and music tech workshops

-Provide 1-to-1 mentoring and re-engagement support for young people

-Deliver outreach programs for schools and alternative education providers

-Invest in accessible, mobile equipment so we can take Grooveschool everywhere it’s needed

About the Event: Grooveschool by the Sea

To celebrate and support this campaign, we’re hosting a one-of-a-kind event helped by all the lovely people residing in Margate – Grooveschool by the Sea – a weekend of live DJ sets, music-making sessions, community vibes and coastal creativity. It’s all about showcasing what we do, bringing people together, and proving just how powerful music can be when it’s open to all.
