Story
On 28th November 2025, we hope to have more people than ever Sleep Out for us to raise awareness and much-needed funds. The fantastic team from Activate Learning, Guildford College, have kindly allowed us to use their space again and partner with us.
For those with no place to call home, having a safe space where basic needs are met and being around people who care can make all the difference. Our support is not time-limited; we will walk alongside someone, however long their journey takes.
The average age of death of a homeless man is 46; for women, it is just 42.
Apart from the dehumanisation of living on the fringes of society, a homeless person also experiences:
Increased vulnerability to crime and violence: People sleeping rough are more likely to be victims of crime and violence.
Health problems: Rough sleepers have higher rates of tuberculosis, hepatitis, skin diseases, and respiratory conditions.
Isolation and danger: Rough sleeping is a dangerous and isolating experience.
Particular vulnerability for women: Nearly 1 in 4 women experiencing rough sleeping have been sexually assaulted while on the streets.
