Home Grown

Campaign by Groundwork East

Home Grown is our free, online growing course. We teach families with young children and elderly residents how to grow their own fruits and vegetables at home. Any amount you are able to give would be greatly appreciated.

Story

What is Home Grown?

Borne in the pandemic when we were unable to get out and work with communities, Home Grown was developed to support families that wanted to have a go at growing their own food, cook together and eat healthier.

In 2022 we launched Home Grown as an online course that appealed to busy lives. Since then, more than 3000 families have joined us to grow their own fruits and vegetables at home.

When a family signs up to Home Grown they receive:

- A free grow pack that contains everything they need to get started including a welcome letter, seeds, tools, pots, gloves, labels and a grow bag.

- Regular newsletters featuring ‘how to’ videos, resources, recipes, craft activities and more.

- Access to a private Home Grown Facebook group to share thoughts, progress and ideas.

Working with Care Homes

In 2024 we started offering Home Grown to Care Home residents. This proved really successful and we’d like to develop this area of the service.

Donations

If you are able to, please consider making a donation to support the continuation of our Home Grown project. Your support will ensure we can continue running this project and carry on teaching young families and elderly residents how to grow their own produce.
