Connecting people with nature

We inspire a love and understanding of the natural environment and sustainable agriculture. Funds raised will connect both children and adults with nature, particularly those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable.

The Goodwood Education Trust is an educational charity that promotes awareness and understanding of the environment to children and adults. We particularly work with children who would otherwise find it hard to connect with nature. Our charity was set up by the 10th Duke of Richmond.

Story

We are an independent educational charity, set up in 1976 by the 10th Duke of Richmond. The Trust offers a range of outdoor learning experiences centred around an accessible, purpose-built Education Centre. Activities take place all year round in 20 acres of ancient woodland dedicated to education, and at Goodwoods organic working farm, near Chichester.

We are determined to expand our provision so that the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in our area can benefit from the educational and therapeutic outcomes experienced by students we are already serving.

Our Trustees are determined to shift our focus onto the most vulnerable. Your support will enable us to increase our social impact by increasing allocated funding and efforts to offer more children, particularly those from schools with a high proportion of disadvantaged children, meaningful, inclusive access to the natural world and improve mental health and well-being.
