What is happening? In June 2024 GWTJ will be leading 20 trekkers on a group expedition up the 1,345 metres of Ben Nevis: the highest mountain in Scotland, the United Kingdom and the British Isles. The trek will follow the Ben Nevis Mountain Track: a challenging and sustained climb with amazing views along the route.
Why are we doing it? To raise funding for GWTJ projects in Nepal and awareness of GWTJ. Since 2014 GWTJ has raised over £1million for Gurkha projects in Nepal, thanks to your support and that of Jersey Overseas Aid (“JOA”). We have an ongoing commitment with our 2024-25 projects. Including 8no. clean water and sanitation projects (3no. will be GWTJ funded with 5no. JOA funded) supporting over 3,000 Nepalese people in over 540 households, and a school project for circa. 600 Nepalese children.
What do we want? We need your donations to achieve our £100,000 fund-raising target for 2024 and supporting the 20 trekkers who have signed up to take on this years GWTJ Ben Nevis Challenge, please!
